Thing #3

For my Spanish classes, I will incorporate this blog into the Scope and Sequence. My students will use this blog as an additional resource and I hope to encourage them to look at foreign languages, travel, and other cultures as positive, exciting adventures.

I will be adding supplemental resources to my blog as well as comments on our classes.
The students will be able to visit the blog and see what they missed if they were absent, go to websites if there was a lesson they did not completely understand and get additional practice, and maybe most importantly, feel like they are part of a positive learning community with their peers.

  1. Tango una pregunta... ¿Vas a requerer los estudiantes usan español in este blog? ¿Leer y escribir? Porque, puedo decir que es difìcil escribir de maquina (gasta mucho tiempo) pero, peinso que es un abilidad util.

  2. First, I didn't even think about how useful a blog could be in a foreign language class. Especially if there is a way to promote students extending their Spanish skills by learning a couple of key words about activities/hobbies they're interested in.
Second, I was proud that I was still able to read Ms. Brownie's comment despite how much time has passed since I used my Spanish.

  3. I find I spend a lot of time chatting with people on line in foreign languages. I can take my time with a response and check my grammar. A class blog is a good idea to encourage conversation among the students. I like to sit with a dictionary and learn new vocabulary. My friends are very helpful with the language. After one month of chatting with my friends in Europe I became quite fluent with my languages by typing. Unfortunately it does not replace speaking the languages, but it helps.

  4. This is a great idea for a foreign language. I would think that using a blog would reduce a lot of the anxiety for students who may have a hard time in the classroom.
